Our Team

Michael Cornell

President

Michael has more than 25 years of management experience in general contracting and construction management, and he brings a wide range of practical knowledge to his positions at Brinshore Development and BCM, LLC. He has been involved in the coordination and management of construction projects valued in excess of $600 million, and with BCM has participated in the completion of 38 projects totaling over 2,000 units of housing.

Michael has a strong interest in sustainable design and community growth, and advocates for sustainable design in local communities throughout the Midwest.

Michael serves on the Board of Directors for Housing Opportunity Development Corporation (HODC), the McGaw YMCA, Unity Fest, and is co-founder of WithinSight, an organization that helps fundraise and generate awareness for vision related not-for-profits.

Michael earned a BA from Depauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.

He is a LEED Accredited Professional, part of the professional certification system created by LEED—Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design—the industry gold standard for its most qualified, educated, and influential green building professionals.

Will Ortman

Senior Project Manager

Will joined BCM, LLC in 2022. As a seasoned Project Manager he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities on multiple BCM projects, as well as pre-construction activities including conceptual cost estimation.

Will has more than 20 years of construction experience, and has acted as Superintendent, Project Manager, and Owner. His portfolio of work has primarily focused on large scale multi- family occupied rehabs, including 300-450 unit properties.

Kelby Cumpston

Project Manager

Kelby joined BCM, LLC in 2016. As a seasoned Project Manager for BCM he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities on multiple BCM projects.

Kelby initially started in the industry with a focus on historic renovations, discovering a passion for restoring historic buildings in the Bloomington, IL, community. He parlayed that experience and interest into a role with BCM as an assistant project manager, assisting with the completion of a 26 unit scattered site project. Mr. Cumpston has subsequently been involved in multiple projects with BCM, ranging from large scale new construction multi-family housing to high-rise occupied rehab. He has successfully completed six projects to date with BCM.

Ed Neese

Senior Superintendent

Ed joined BCM, LLC in 2015. As a seasoned Senior Superintendent for BCM, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities on multiple BCM projects.

Ed is a former union carpenter, working his way up through the trades to become a carpenter foreman, superintendent, and project manager. He has over 30 years of construction experience.

Formerly, Ed was the Director of Construction and Major Maintenance for Holsten Management Corporation. Mr. Neese worked with Holsten from 1995-2012 and participated in multiple historic renovations in the Chicagoland area, including the 7-story Yale Apartments in Englewood, the two 22-story Hilliard Apartments in South Loop, formerly a CHA public housing development, and the 14-story Midwest Apartments in Garfield Park.
